Welcome to the Wyoming Junior Rodeo Association!
Wyoming Junior Rodeo Association is a non-profit organization that has been active for more than 20 years with rodeos all over the state of Wyoming. One of our main goals is to prepare our members for high school and collegiate levels of rodeo competition. We welcome members and participants from surrounding states, as well.
Youth must compete in the age division for which they qualify and may not move up to another division. Age is determined by a September 1st dealine of the current school year and members must be enrolled in 8th grade or lower.
PEE WEE -- 6 & UNDER
BARREL RACING, POLE BENDING, GOAT TAIL TYING
JUNIOR GIRL -- 7 - 10 YEARS
SENIOR GIRL -- 11 - 15 YEARS
BARREL RACING, POLE BENDING, GOAT TYING, BREAKAWAY ROPING, TEAM ROPING
JUNIOR BOY -- 7 - 10 YEARS
SENIOR BOY -- 11 - 15 YEARS
GOAT TYING OR CALF TYING (depending on which one the host rodeo offers), BREAKAWAY ROPING, TEAM ROPING, STEER/BULL RIDING
Membership Dues are: Single $21.00 Family $31.00 if paid by March 31st or Single $36 and Family $56 if paid after March 31st.
Entries for rodeos are taken on the Monday preceding the rodeo from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. If you enter and are a no show you will need to pay $20 per event to that host rodeo before you can enter the next rodeo.
All contestants are required to wear western attire including western boots (not "sport-type" shoes or boots), hats, etc. Note that contestants may be disqualified for the use of profanity in and around the contesting area. These are detailed along with the points system, payoff, and other pertinent information in the rulebook.
Contestant jackets are given, at summer finals. You must sell seven WJRA money calendars or get a $105 donation. All members are required to sell the money calendars or get a donation of $105. Your membership is not complete unless your calendar check is received.
